EARLY BIRD GETS THE WORM!
Makers Air & Flamingo Air both fly twice a day
(morning + afternoon) to Staniel Cay, and seat 8 – 12 people. They're the only (recommended) commercial charter flight companies that fly to Staniel Cay.

Typically, 1 plane flies for each scheduled time; however, they have 2-3 planes they can use to accommodate if needed. Since most people will be catching the afternoon flight, that means seats will be very limited.
So book early people!
TIMING IS
EVERYTHING.
Plan on arriving to Fort Lauderdale or Nassau with plenty of time to spare to catch your charter flight to Staniel. Both airliners require you to check in at least 1-2 hours before your flight and both have different processes as far as customs, ground travel, etc. Be sure to check out the Makers Air and Flamingo Air pages for specific details!

Although Nassau or Fort Lauderdale aren't bad places to get stuck overnight, you won't want to miss drinking goombays with us at SCYC on Thursday night! 😉
So plan on having a healthy buffer from your arrival
time to departure to Staniel Cay.
Did someone say discounts?
YAS! If you choose to stay at SCYC, you can recieve some pretty sweet perks! (*cough* wedding party!!) Discounted flights & assistance with your flight reservations. You can read more information about it here!

Where our pilot friends at?!
To all our pilot friends! SCYC offers a pilot discount of 20% your nightly room rate if you plan on flying into Staniel during your stay. Discount will be applied at check-in. Pilot license & copy of transire must be shown at check-in to qualify. Click here for more details.
SNACKS!!!
If there's one thing I can't stress enough it's to bring snacks or to be sure to eat before/on your flight! Nothing's worse than a hangry girlfriend. Amirite guys?! Trust me when I say I speak from experience...

Ok, ok, I'll tell ya...
One time Chet and I were traveling from Nassau airport to Staniel and Chet was scurrying to wave down a taxi so we didn't miss our flight. And then you see me trying to sneak away real quick to the 30-MINUTE Wendy's line because that's all there was and I was about to chew my arm off (ALL BAD PEOPLE)...
Don't be me. It will be a long day of travel, so be prepared & feed yoself!
Handy Dandy Passport!
Paperwork... yuck! Never fun. If your passport has been collecting dust over the years, be sure to check the expiration date on that bad boy and make sure you're good to go.

Typically, it takes about 6 – 8 weeks to get an updated passport so don't wait til the last minute friends! Nothing would be worse than getting to the Bahamas & realizing your passport expired... (would make for a fun story down the road though, haha!)
